What concerns your question - so far the feature of linking two maps is not implemented, but we're planning to implement it soon (you can track this feature). It'll be done in the way of linking two maps by hyperlinks (you'll be able to insert a hyperlink to another map file into a node).
We have also been thinking about adding possibility of linking a node on one map to a node on another, but this feature is still under consideration.
