Locking the diagram

Issue: Everytime I click a node Cayra re-centers it, which can take a long time. It also shuffles other nodes around in a sometimes confusing fashion. Can you look possible solutions, like:
-creating a "locked Map" feature that would lock the map with its nodes in their current position?
-Lock only part of the map like the parent nodes and continue to let the children "auto arrange"
-Or maybe some sort of scroll bar that allows Cayra to be "fully intuitive" in how it arranges the map or completely manual with the user controlling it.
- Allow the user to save locations of "major nodes". ( I like how I can manually move nodes around, but then if I have an idea and want to add a child node to a different parent, it re-organizes everything)

So in other words even thought the auto-arrange characteristics of Cayra are a great current feature (and what makes Cayra stand out compared to other programs I've seen), I think more user input to the graphical display of the Map should be available.

An additional reason for a "locking feature" is that some of the original concepts for Mind Mapping were to create a memorable image with Branches, Ideas, and Pictures (links/nodes/images) to aid creativity and memory. For the initial creation of a Mind Map Cayra effectively auto-positions nodes, but once it is nearing completion it would more effectively follow Mind Mapping "procedure" to allow the user to "lock down" the Image or make the creation their own.

Thanks

lock nodes

you could add an option to lock a node and automatically all children would be locked in place. Also, when moving a node all children would be moved, trying to keep an established shape. just an idea...

Re: lock nodes

Hi, I have moved your comment to the Forum.

Thank you for the suggestion!

Re: Locking the diagram

1. We're currently thinking about "locking" option for map.
2. What concerns "major nodes" - there's a feature of "weight" for nodes which is in our development issues. "Heavier" nodes will look bigger and be more stable on the diagram, too.

I like your program too! It

I like your program too! It is fun playing and working with and has a beautiful look and feel.
But ... I also would like a feature to lock the diagram as a whole or/and single nodes/groups of nodes - that way I can focus on the idea and rearrange the elements the way I want to and don't get thrown off track every time the program reshuffles. I guess a roaring applause will be yours upon implementation ;-).
Anyway - thanks for putting something like Cayra together and offer it for free!! You guys are great!

cool - I saw the "heavier"

cool - I saw the "heavier" part and thought that it would be a good strategy
