First of all, we decided that "Cayra" simply sounds nice. :-)

Second, it stands out of other MindMap program names. They all have "Map" or "Concept" or "Mind" in it, so after you've seen or tried more than 5, you simply forget the name of the 1st..

Third, we found out that "Cayra" is a name of a bird, that you see on the left-top of the page. In English this bird's name is Guillemot or Common Murre, but it Russian it sounds like "cayra". As soon as the developers of this program come from Russia ;-), we decided to use the image of this bird as a logo.
